Tell you a secret....

I have a dream.

My dream is to be able to help as many people as possible achieve their musical dreams on the piano!

Are you one of them?

Say YES! Welcome you on board!

Christmas is just around the corner! Imagine yourself playing a Christmas song while your friends or family members sing along together. Wouldn’t it be a unique experience?

Have you ever thought that piano can also be your best companion too? When you are having a bad day and there was no one to talk to, wouldn’t it be nice to have a friend whom you can just confide to, knowing that this is a friend who will not judge you?

In 2016, I was in a friend’s house for a gathering. The black and shiny piano attracted my attention. I decided to play a song while waiting for the rest to arrive. I was playing ‘Laputa: Castle in The Sky’. Throughout the whole song, I noticed that Ms J was standing next to me, observing the movement of my fingers. She tried to mimic the movement too.

Intrigued, I stopped and turned around.

“Do you like this song?” I asked.

“Yes, I always wanted to learn this song!” she said happily.

“Have you learned piano before?” I continued.

“No,” she said, with a big sigh.

“Why?” I frowned and asked her curiously.

She told me about her difficulties. She has engaged a 1-to-1 piano teacher before, but it was too costly and was not sustainable. Furthermore, she couldn’t remember the things her teacher taught her during the 45 min 1-to-1 lesson, because there were too many things to remember (actually she requested for that, thinking that by learning more things at one go, the money spent for that 45 minutes is worth it.) In the end, it became really difficult for her to practise by herself throughout the week. She had to ask her teacher to practise with her the same thing again in the following week.

“I felt that I am wasting money because I am paying the fees to learn the same thing again!” she said with another big sigh again.

She continued, “How I wish there is someone whom I can go to wherever I need revision or re-demonstration of the movement of the fingers. I really cannot commit my time to practise piano, my work is getting busier now. How good it will be if there is a piano course which I can learn at my own pace.”

Upon listening to her concern, I started to figure out a solution. “Great! If I can provide you with this “someone”, would you want to take the course?” I asked excitedly.

“Of course! Tell me when you have this “someone” in mind!” That was how we ended our conversation and how I began creating my online piano course.

Ms J’s concern is not new to whoever who wanted to learn piano. I believe it could be your obstacles too. Some adults have not played piano before, the black and white keys are just too daunting. They encounter problems with stiff fingers, or difficulty in coordinating both hands, this is where I share ways and tips to help them. Once you overcome the initial hurdle, you can progress slowly and steadily with my course. And you can even propose songs that you want to learn, that’s how the learning journey becomes more meaningful! 😊

I managed to figure out ways to learn piano in an easy and steady way. But there is a commitment needed: at least 10 minutes a day. A good thing about learning piano online is, with online lessons, you pick the time that works for you. It could even be a different time every week. Lessons happen when you want them and where you want them.

If you can allocate 10 minutes of your time every day, you will be able to learn AT LEAST one song a month with my step-by-step piano tutorials.
